Balance is a daily habit

Daily habits for successful Sales Professionals

Success is not an accident. It takes discipline and certain daily habits, to achieve true success. Especially during this recent pandemic when most of us have a change in our “usual” routines, get to work from home and get to balance family and work life daily, it behooves anyone aspiring to find and sustain success to have daily success habits.

The same way success means different things to different people, habits of successful people also differ. However, there are some habits that are common to many successful Sales Professionals.

We’re not talking daily schedules – I’m not big on daily schedules; partly because no two days are exactly the same, and I like the ability to create each day as it comes. What I intend to highlight is the mindset of successful Sales Professionals that stay the same each day.

What are some of the daily habits that distinguish successful Sales Professionals from average ones? The following are some of the daily habits successful Sales Professionals practice:

Wake up early: Great Sales Professionals know the importance of maximizing the hours of the day. Everyone gets 24 hours each day. How we use the time is totally up to us. Ever wondered how some get so much done in a day? They wake up early to make the most of the day.

Make affirmations: Affirmations give you a positive boost and the motivation to stay focused through the day. There’s enough negativity and doubt out there. The best thing you can do is affirm yourself with positive words, daily.

Practice gratitude: Successful people are grateful for what they have. The daily practice of gratitude has a cumulative effect – with daily practice, you will begin to realize that every day is a good day, and you will attract more good.

Set and write down goals: Having specific, measurable goals sets the tone for the day and allows you to stay focused. Daily goals must be connected to long-term goals. That way, achieving your daily goals gets you closer to achieving the long-term goals.

Read: Successful Sales Professionals live by the mantra: “Never stop learning.” Reading regularly to improve and increase your knowledge base puts you ahead of the game, gives credibility and confidence. Read up on your company, industry, products, trends in the marketplace, regulations, self-help books, etc.…There are lots of relevant, value-adding materials you can read up on out there. So, go ahead…read!

Track activities: Like the saying goes “Inspect what you expect.” Successful Sales Professionals keep track of the actions taken to achieve goals – calls, emails, meetings, new prospects, deals closed, etc. This allows them to evaluate what’s working and what’s not working to make adjustments, where necessary.

Being accountable: Accountability is a huge game changer. Why? Because it gives that extra drive to do what you said you will do. Whether it is updating your customer relationship management tool (CRM) or giving feedback to a line manager, coach or accountability partner, being accountable gives visibility into your actions and exposes your intent. Afterall, actions speak louder than words.

The habit above are by no means the only habits. There are others habits like eating healthy, spending time with loved ones, exercising, etc., that we can learn from successful Sales Professionals. However, incorporating one or a couple more of these daily habits can have a huge positive effect on your results. Your daily habits create your future.

What are some of the habits that work for you? How would including/incorporating some of the habits above be a game changer for you? Not sure where to start or need a coach/accountability partner to keep you on track? Let’s talk: info@thecommissioninternational.com.
